Single Media Instructional Design
The most difficult thing I found while designing single media instruction was overcoming limitations a single format might have. For example, when designing an instructional document with only visual media it was at times difficult to represent the concept/information I needed to show. My chosen topic included procedure that included stages more intellectual in nature than a basic how to. I had to think outside the box to use visuals; consequently I think comprehensibility may have been decreased, which is an issue that must be resolved. In general, I think that using a single medium requires the designer and teacher to really consider how students learn and from what types of materials they learn well.
